Education decisions cost time and money. Our editorial rules favor traceable facts, specific limitations, and useful comparisons over broad claims.
Our source order for education facts
- Government sources for program counts, wages, certification, and licensing rules.
- Official school pages for current curriculum, credential, location, admissions, and school-controlled policies.
- Original editorial analysis that clearly states its criteria and evidence.
What our editors do before publication
- Give each page one distinct reader question to answer.
- Keep numbers tied to their source, geography, and release.
- Record the reporting period, population, unit, and definition for every school or program number.
- Use school wording for a verified program name.
- Remove a school claim when its source does not support it or its meaning is ambiguous.
- Label affiliate forms before the reader interacts with them.
- Link related pages when they help the next decision.
How we handle recommendations
A directory listing is not a recommendation. If we later publish rankings or recommendations, the page must explain the factors used, apply them consistently, and link to the underlying method. Commercial relationships cannot substitute for those criteria.
How corrections work
We correct factual errors when authoritative evidence shows the page is wrong. A material correction includes the updated claim, a supporting source, and a new review date. We do not silently change a source-backed conclusion merely because a school or partner dislikes it.
